As an eco-friendly company, we adhere to a "zero-waste" policy, meaning we do our best to ensure that no material in production goes unused! We pride ourselves on our quality; if a sock is found to have a small flaw it is considered a second which we then donate to a wide variety of shelters and charities across the country. If we have a sock or other scrap material that is not wearable, we challenge ourselves to find creative ways to keep our scraps out of landfills and bring new life to these materials.
One of the ways we do this is by donating these scraps to an incredible organization called Endless Possibilities. Endless Possibilities is a fundraising program of the Outer Banks Crisis Hotline in North Carolina (where all our socks are knit). It is part weaving program, part community center, part recycling program, and part haven. Through this program, volunteer weavers produce hand-woven creations made from donated or castoff fabrics that are then sold in their retail shop. All proceeds from these sales aid domestic and sexual violence survivor services and programs. While we knew that our unused scraps could become so much more than landfill materials, we never could have imagined the artistic beauty that they would transform these leftovers into. We are so happy to partner with such a wonderful organization in this endeavor!
We truly value each and every one of our awesome customers and are happy to be able to give back and bring awareness to such an important issue. To learn more about Endless Possibilities, please visit their Facebook Page.
